4. Exposição precoce à cannabis e o surgimento do transtorno bipolar

Estudo que acompanhou pessoas desde o nascimento, ao longo de 22 anos, em uma coorte brasileira. O uso precoce de cannabis associou-se a maior chance de desenvolver transtorno bipolar. Vale lembrar que fatores de risco aumentam a probabilidade — não determinam o desfecho.

5. Marcadores inflamatórios no transtorno de estresse pós-traumático

The Lancet Psychiatry, 2015 — primeiro autor

Revisão sistemática com meta-análise que reuniu os dados disponíveis sobre inflamação em pessoas com transtorno de estresse pós-traumático (TEPT). Os resultados mostraram níveis mais altos de marcadores inflamatórios no sangue desses pacientes, em comparação com pessoas sem o transtorno. O achado reforça que experiências traumáticas repercutem no funcionamento do corpo, e não apenas no estado emocional.
